Both celebrations happened during the summer of 2009; a going away party and a wedding shower. The cake on the bottom was made by my friend (in Massachusetts) for our other friend who was going away to the Coast Guard Academy, and she did a great job with details. I'm not sure where the first cake came from, most likely a store in New Jersey (where the party took place), but they made the cake look very appealing, as well. The Coast Guard Academy is in Connecticut and the wedding was in Texas. Although the colors of the cake on the right look more appealing, I like the cake on the bottom better because the colors actually represent something and it was personally made by one of my friends for another one of my friends. I took absolutely no part in the making of either of these cakes (because if I did they wouldn't look that great or taste very good), but I did take both of these pictures. Even though I took them awhile ago, I'm always looking through my old photos and using them for new things. I like the idea that when I took these pictures I did not know that I would be using them for anything later on, so I just took them for fun, and now they're helping me out!

Burritos....close enough to tacos
One reason that I can't be a chef (and its definitely not the only reason) is my inability to stick to a menu. Remember those tacos....they became burritos. Anyhow, the food turned out very edible (which is what matters...right?)
Speaking of which (sort of), if you guys are interested in real authentic South American cuisine, check out:
Macchu Picchu in Somerville (http://machupicchuboston.com/)
Best meats and sauces EVER! Oh, and the juice is great too. Dinner can get pricey though so I'd advise the lunch menu.
Peace out!
